The Origin Story

Every letter of our name is true.

Most company names are invented in a branding workshop. Ours was written by our family, our hometown, and three diplomas earned side by side.

TREE isn't a metaphor. It's our family.

The four letters at the center of our name are our family's initials. Palm Tree IQ is a family firm in the most literal sense — founded by two partners with decades of parallel corporate careers, and named for all four of us.

The next generation is charting its own path — a degree in progress, a career taking shape — but they are the reason the name exists, and the future this firm is built toward.

The Palm is San Diego. We're from the city where palm trees lined our streets. Palms are the right emblem for how we think about businesses: they bend in storms and don't break, they thrive without demanding constant maintenance, and they grow tall by growing steadily. That's what a well-run operation looks like.

The IQ is earned. Three of us returned to school to earn Master's degrees in AI for Business together — same program, same late nights, one shared graduation in December 2026. And our two founders are each building a portfolio of multiple master's degrees: Roger already holds an MBA and Tricia an MA in Psychology, and both complete their Master's in AI for Business this December. Advanced degrees spanning business leadership, human behavior, and the business of AI — studied side by side. When we say we've done the homework on AI implementation, we mean it literally.

And the experience came first. Before the degrees, two of us spent more than twenty years each inside the corporate world — running programs, operations, and teams. We've lived the broken handoffs, the tribal knowledge, the process nobody wrote down. That's exactly the know-how we now help companies turn into scalable, shareable tools their teams actually use.
